Shocking News 'Phantom' banned in Pakistan

shaif ali khan and Katrina Kaif
A Pakistani court today banned the release of Bollywood movie "Phantom" in the country on a plea filed by JuD chief and Mumbai attack mastermind Hafiz Saeed against it alleging that the film, set on post-26/11 attacks, contains "filthy propaganda" against him and his outfit.

Lahore High Court judge Justice Shahid Bilal Hassan issued the order to ban the release of the Saif Ali Khan-starrer film in the theaters in Pakistan after hearing the arguments of Saeed's counsel and the government law officer.

Before issuing a short-order on the film, which was scheduled to release on August 28, the judge observed that Indian and other movies are easily available after their release and asked the government what it could do to stop it from being available in the market if a movie is banned.

"If a movie is banned in cinemas what the government could do to stop it from being available in the market in CDs", the judge asked.

In the petition filed in the High Court on August 8, Saeed's advocate A K Dogar alleged that "there is a direct threat to the life of the petitioner (Saeed) and his associates emanating from the content of the trailer of the film."

"It is obvious that dialogues coming out of the lips of the different Indian actors and actresses will poison the minds of Pakistani public and will portray Hafiz Saeed as terrorist even though JuD has not been declared as a proscribed organisation," Dogar said.

Arguing in the court, the government law officer said that since no one had sought No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the government for the release of the movie in Pakistan the petition was "useless" and should be dismissed.

"The petitioner is unnecessarily trying to involve the government," he said.
Based on crime author Hussain Zaidi's novel "Mumbai Avengers", 'Phantom' is set in the aftermath of the 26/11 Mumbai attacks and deals with global terrorism.

The Pakistan censor board had yet not cleared the film for screening in the country.

Since the government allowed exhibition of Indian films in Pakistan, the Censor Board has been careful about not allowing screening of Indian films which deal with the subject of Pakistan, terrorism and ISI.

In the past, Saif Ali Khan's 'Agent Vinod' and Salman Khan's 'Ek Tha Tiger' were also banned from being screened in cinema halls in the country although they are freely available on CDs and DVDs in Pakistan.

Sunny Leone-starrer Mastizaade has finally been cleared for a theatrical release after some censoring

Milap Zaveri's 'Mastizaade' starring Sunny Leone, which had been denied a Censor certificate earlier, has now been cleared with an 'adult' tag after the makers agreed to cut a few scenes and dialogues. The adult comedy was supposed to hit the marquee on May 1, but the Censor Board, at its various levels, had rejected it for its risque content.

Milap Zaveri says, "We are happy and excited to get a clearance. We will announce a release date soon. The film is an adult comedy and in anticipation of cuts from the Censor Board, we filmed extra shots. We have chopped some scenes here and there, but they do not affect the film in any way."
'Mastizaade' producer Rangita Nandy refrained from sharing details on the number of cuts effected to obtain certification. "I can only tell you that we have escaped unhurt and the impact of the cuts are not that bad. Though it was not an easy process, we managed to pull it off and had a quiet celebration for it. We are now looking to release the film as soon as possible since it is ready," she adds.

Shraddha and Tiger Shroff's rumoured ladylove look alike?

Do Shraddha and Tiger Shroff
Shraddha Kapoor seems to have a doppelganger in model and aspiring actress Disha Patani.

Patani, who is also rumoured to be Tiger Shroff's girlfriend, resembles Shraddha quite a bit.

Interestingly, Tiger and Disha were to feature in the upcoming film Baaghi, but at the last-minute she was dropped and Shraddha was roped in.

Whatever the reason for Disha's ouster, looks like Tiger will have a co-star that reminds him of his lady love.

Kritika Kamra does not like saas-bahu dramas anymore

Kritika tv Actress

She has essayed a doctor, been a narrator for a cyber crime show, and is currently seen as a journalist in a TV show. Kritika Kamra says she prefers content-driven projects over "saas-bahu dramas".

"When I'm associated with a show, I want to be a part of something that I would enjoy watching. I can't be a part of something that drags. I don't enjoy the saas-bahu dramas... I don't watch it (and) I'm not that audience," Kritika told IANS on the phone from Mumbai.

She said there is an audience like her that is constantly looking for differentiated content on Indian television.

"And there is such less to choose from," added the actress, who has received a Cyber Celebrity Award for hosting the show "MTV Webbed".

She says she enjoys playing a variety of roles as it helps her to "learn something and get to be a part of a new world, reinvent and be different".
The 26-year-old stressed that her motive is to be in shows which are high on "content", rather than being high on TRPs (Television Rating Points).

"My whole idea is that I want to be a part of the shows that are remembered for the quality of content...and not remembered for the TRPs."

Her ongoing show "Reporters" is soon going to get wrapped up. "It was supposed to be a finite series," she said.

Kritika is "glad" that the show is a finite series because "it comes to a logical conclusion and it doesn't go on for years and leaps happen and (the story gets) dragged."

In "Reporters", Kritika shares screen space with Rajeev Khandelwal.

The relationship attracted a lot of attention and speculations about an impending engagement were also rife. The two later parted ways and Dippy decided that she would not, henceforth, talk about her relationships openly.

Harman Baweja confessed that he was dating Bipasha Basu
In his bid to find a toehold in the industry yet again with 'Dishkiyaoon' (2014), Harman Baweja had confessed that he was dating Bipasha Basu just before the film's release. Speculation was rife about them being a twosome for a while, but they preferred to remain tightlipped. But just prior to the film's release, Harman revealed how he met Bips at Amitabh Bachchan's 70th birthday bash in 2012 and that they hit it off and ended up seeing each other. The film did not survive at the box office and nor did his relationship with the Bong bombshell.

They didn't mind about being snapped everywhere together and when the paparazzi couldn't locate them, they posted their pictures on social media on their own.

Asin has opened up about her impending wedding days before her next film

asin wedding day
Asin has opened up about her impending wedding days before her next film hits the marquee. A look at other stars who eagerly revealed their relationship details just around the time their film was slated to release

When their films are lined up for release, stars resort to every gimmick in the book to attain publicity or mileage. Anything that attracts attention works - even their personal lives. All this while, Asin Thottumkal was fiercely guarded about her relationship with entrepreneur Rahul Sharma.

However, in the last few days, she has been quite vocal about it and even revealed plans of tying the knot by the end of this year. Her frankness is a good sign, but the fact that she chose to talk about it just days before the release of her film All Is Well evokes cynicism.

In 2013, when Asin had thrown a bash to celebrate her birthday with industry folk, there was a video message from Hollywood star Hugh Jackman. You do not need to be a rocket scientist to figure out the Asin-Wolverine star link. Jackman was brand ambassador and featured in the commercials of a mobile phone brand owned by her beau. At that time, Asin had maintained that it came as a huge surprise to her.

`Red Chillies Entertainment... Dharma and Hope Productions are proud to present Gauri Shinde's next starring... SHAH RUKH KHAN and ALIA BHATT,` Karan tweeted.

Earlier this week, Shinde, wife of filmmaker R. Balki, had shared that she's ready to be back in action to work on a script, which is "almost" ready.
"Yes I am making my next film script done... well almost... going on the floors soon. Looking forward to be back in action," Shinde posted on Twitter on Monday.

Her directorial debut, the 2012 entertainer "English Vinglish", which marked the comeback of Sridevi onto the big screen, found critical acclaim as well as the audience's love for telling a poignant tale of a woman who learns English in the quest of 'fitting in' the life of her husband and children.

This will be Shah Rukh's first film with Alia, whose debut "Student Of The Year" was co-produced by the 49-year-old. It will be interesting to see the duo star together as while SRK turns 50 in November, Alia is less than half his age.

"There are some features in my character which have not yet been revealed in the trailer and the film's promos, as we want those hidden features only to be revealed once the film releases," Kangana said.

Bigg Boss Is Back Salman Continues to be the host

Bigg Boss Is Back Salman Continues to be the host
Probably reports about Salman's resigning from the controversial TV reality show Bigg Boss' hostship would have disappointed many fans of Sallu as well as Bigg Boss. But now this clan of Bigg Boss fans once again has a valid reason to rejoice, because as per reports Salman has once again given his affirmation to host the show.

If we go by the howls of our Khabroo Foxy then they suggest that after Salman's refusal to host the 9th season of the show the channel approached 'Khiladi' Kumar Akki and Ranveer Singh to step in Salman's shoes, but eventually it turns out that Salman is backtracking on his decision and is ready to continue with the show.

It is also worth-mentioning here that when reports about Salman's saying goodbye to Bigg Boss surfaced in grapevine, it was stated that Salman may not be doing Bigg Boss 9 because of some date issues. But on the hind side many of us knew that Salman took this decision in wake of widespread criticism which he received on social media alleging about his being unfair, partial, and practicing favoritism. But now we guess Sallu has decided to embrace 'let bygones be bygones' philosophy and is all set to return to Bigg Boss' arena.

Now if all goes well then the next season of Bigg Boss is expected to start in the later part of the year.

Blast from the past...

In the past also Salman was not very keen to do the 8th season of the show, but then the makers of the show lured him by doubling his remuneration from Rs 2-3 crores to Rs 5-7 crores per episode.
